Sega Dreamcast
Perhaps the most underrated console made by a major player, SEGA's Dreamcast was destined for failure. The 128-bit monster was more than four times more powerful than new rivals Sony's Playstation, yet didn't capture the target audience in Japan with enough high-quality games at launch to make a lasting impression. The console sold slightly better on its US and European launch, yet by this time SEGA's withdrawal from the console market seemed inevitable.
In a cruel twist of fate the Dreamcast's limited life and many excellent post-launch games mean that it is now one of the most sought-after retro games console in the current market.
